COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
Wednesday 14th May 2003

The minutes of the last meeting were accepted
George Wilson Attended the NC meeting for Brian but has since resigned the position of Deputy Rep. Thanks for the effort George, from all the committee.
3. POLITICAL AND CAMPAIGNS
MAG campaign against the ban on black visors. Letters have been sent to groups encouraging them to write to their local MP. Workington have had two replies from Tony Cunningham MP and Jack Cunningham MP. Other Groups still to write to their MPs as this gives MAG an inclination of how the MPs will react to campaigns in the future.
Streetbiker Reports of local Events, Club Runs Etc, for Streetbiker required to promote our area.
4. QUESTIONS TO REPS AND OFFICERS.
These will be answered direct by e-mail.
5. REGIONAL REPS /NC REPORT.
MAG Cumbria managed to sell nearly 300 R1 tickets. Thanks to everyone who helped.BH .
Also we have some small Cumbria MAG stickers which will be coming up for sale soon for the Princely sum of £1.00. Clare has had difficulties with the first batch the yellow was too transparent so it did not show up on strong background colours.
BH has visited Whitehaven (17th March), Workington (26th March) and Furness (15th April) groups.
The 2003 MAG AGC
No one from Cumbria attended the AGC so the only feedback was from the reports.
BH is to contact CT and PS by letter to ask the best form of communication, the rest of the committee are happy to continue with
e-mail .
The national MAG membership has dropped again, though some local areas memberships are growing in number.
All groups to supply a report to the committee one week before the meetings.

7. Cumbria MAG Products
CT is sourcing mini MAG stickers.
Diesel Stickers to be obtained by BH.
MAG badges for local groups are being developed by Whitehaven and Workington and will be used on documentation etc for the groups.
Street bikers a drop off point at Penrith was discussed so PT could pick them up to be distributed, local groups to decide on their local requirements and let PT know.
Barrow MAG Dealer Liaison John Marsden has negotiated a 5% discount in Ramblers stores in Ulverston and Kendal as well as the 10% discount at Crooks Suzuki.
8. ADVANCE BUSINESS
All Local Reps are to discuss dates for local events (i.e. Ride Outs) to ensure no duplication of dates, so if you are planning an event let everyone know ASAP.
Workington MAG is having a Lakes and passes Treasure hunt on Sunday 8th June, also the Halloween Party will hopefully be in the Carnegie this year.
CH also discussed a change of venue for the Workington Groups meetings, possibly to Maryport.
Whitehaven MAG have organised a Barbeque and short ride out on the Saturday 12th July that will be followed up by a few beers around Whitehaven.
Clubs AC now has a clubs page in development for the Cumbria MAG site. Anne is also organising another meet and greet involving the local clubs, reps have been asked to attend.
Member of the Year Plaque Raj still has not received his engraved plate to fix to the plaque. (Who usually sorts this out?)
9. A.O.B.
Any local Reps unable to make the committee meeting are asked to send a representative if possible.
Quorate- The numbers of Cumbria Committee members required to be quorate was discussed, the feeling was that at least four committee members should be present to make any Cumbria MAG decisions.
TM has volunteered to be the Deputy Minute Secretary to cover for any Committee meeting that CT is unable to attend.
TENT a discussion of MAG Cumbria buying a suitable tent for shows etc was discussed the choice of a second hand tent was the preferred option. Anyone spotting such a tent is to contact the committee before purchase to ensure we only buy one!
Rally no rally sites have been looked at by TM yet! (Sorry!!) but anyone with a suitable site contact TM who will try to go and have a look.
